School Talk at Wanstead High School |

|
Last week, on 22 October, officers from the Wanstead Park Ward joined colleagues from the Churchfields Ward to deliver presentations on cyber crime awareness and knife crime prevention to pupils at Wanstead High School.
The sessions were delivered to approximately 720 students across Years 7, 8 and 10, covering a range of important topics affecting young people today. The cyber crime presentation included fraud awareness, social engineering and phishing tactics, AI-enabled scams, online safety, malware risks, strong passwords, account security, antivirus protection and data recovery. Our colleagues also delivered a knife crime awareness presentation, highlighting the law surrounding carrying knives, the impact of knife crime on young people and families, and signposting pupils to organisations that provide support and prevention resources. The students remained engaged throughout, asked thoughtful questions and showed a genuine interest in the subjects discussed. School staff were extremely positive about the presentations and have already expressed interest in hosting similar sessions for other year groups in the future.
We're grateful to Wanstead High School for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to engage with young people on issues that can have a significant impact on their safety and wellbeing.
